(last updated Aug. 18, 2022)

Q. Is the conference review process double-blinded?

A. (02/26/2023 Answer:) Submitted papers should include authors’ information, so reviewing is not double-blind.

Q. Will SMC 2023 be in-person only?

A. (09/23/2022 Answer:) We recognize the importance and value of the onsite meetings, which bring us together to meet physically, especially for newcomers to the SMC community. SMC 2023 will be held as a traditional in-person conference. However, virtual attendance will also be an option for certain categories of attendees, with the recognition that the virtual attendance offers a different kind of experience.  We will strive to make the in-person event fruitful and memorable while also planning to pay special attention to the virtual track.

Q. Is there a volunteer program for non-local students?

A. (09/23/2022 Answer:) We welcome a limited number of student volunteers, who have accepted papers. Please contact the Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, including information about your paper acceptance and a one page resume.

Q. Can I make changes to my submitted paper after the deadline?

A. (09/23/2022 Answer:) SMC 2023 authors cannot make changes to their submitted manuscripts past the submission deadline.

Q. I will attend the conference and present my paper in person. Do I still need to submit the presentation video?

A. (09/23/2022 Answer:) Yes. Your pre-recorded presentation video is important for online registrants to watch in case of a network problem, time-zone difficulty, etc. All conference attendees can watch your presentations during all conference periods.
